Report: Ann Curry banned from live TV
NBC wants former 'Today' co-host to do taped interviews only

NBC's already strained relationship with Ann Curry just got worse.
The network has issued a new edict that the former "Today" co-host can no longer do live interviews on air, the New York Post reports. According to a source, Curry has been gunning to do live interviews, but NBC will only let her do pre-recorded chats, "presumably so they can edit them."

While the Peacock network dismissed the story as gossip, Curry has been taping interviews for various NBC news programs. Her relationship with the network and former co-host Matt Lauer went south when NBC fired her from "Today" last June.

Most recently, the Post reported that CNN's new chief, Jeff Zucker, wants to hire Curry. Zucker was her boss when he ran NBC Universal. Meanwhile, Curry, 56, reportedly wants NBC to release her from her multi-year contract.
"Today" airs weekdays at 7 a.m. ET/PT on NBC.
Ann Curry handled the news desk with professionalism and easily moved into soft reporting. She is smart, funny, interesting, sensitive, and a "mover and shaker". NBC should be proud of her ability to motivate a country as she did after the Newtown, CT, shootings.
Shame on NBC TODAY for the big sendoff they gave Meredith (who keeps coming back) and the rude handling of Ann Curry who brings serious issues to light. Really!
ANN CURRY WAS THE ONLY SENSITIVE, COMPASSIONATE, AND INTELLIGENT PERSON ON THAT GOOFY TODAY SHOW, i STOPPED WATCHING AND WENT TO GMA....SO DID MANY MORE SINCE TODAY'S RATINGS HAS DROPPED RECENTLY. MATT LAUER IS A TIGHT **** stick in the mud who does not know how to express any emotion. The new guy they go......OH BOY another Lauer.....YOUR LOSING.
Ann is the worst TV personality out there. CNN ratings will definitely suffer as a result of putting her on the air. After her public meltdown about her human resource issues at NBC, she has become a cancer to the team at NBC. The women currently working alongside Matt every morning are more talented, can interview and have more loyalty to the producers. I like the line-up they have now and the weekend show is the best; Lester and Erica Hill (ex CNN) are excellent together.
All said, I really would have liked to see Ann support the "Today" team and not go public with her inability to be a better team player, but in the end it was all about her. She should take her severance check and quit the industry; what an embarrassment to journalism. Journalism schools across the country should be teaching their students not to be like Ann Curry.
