Speidi's new British TV special

Loathed reality couple finds new fame in exile

The British officially surrendered to the U.S. in 1781. However, we have launched a new attack. And it's a vicious one.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, the most revolting personalities ever manufactured by American reality television, are now the toast of England. "Speidi: Scandal, Secrets & Surgery" is the title of a new British reality special purporting to tell "the story behind the rise and fall and rise again."

Bing: More on Heidi Montag | Spencer Pratt

That "rise again" part probably needs some explaining: After achieving undeserved fame by behaving obnoxiously on "The Hills" -- then trying but failing to sustain that fame via extreme plastic surgery and a book actually titled "How to be Famous: Our Guide to Looking the Part, Playing the Press and Becoming a Tabloid Fixture" -- Speidi crossed the pond, where it took second place by behaving obnoxiously on "Celebrity Big Brother 11."

So now the Brits apparently can't get enough.

In England's defense, it had no idea who or what a Speidi was before "Big Brother." And it's not like we weren't spellbound by the couple's nonsense for a while, too.

No word on if or when the special will screen in the U.S.

Do you think Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt deserve to be celebrated for their achievements, or smacked?
