'Glee' Gay Dads Revealed
Jeff Goldblum and Brian Stokes Mitchell will pop up as Rachel's adoptive parents
By Kenny Herzog Jan 18, 2012 10:21AM
We've known for some time that "Glee" diva Rachel (Lea Michelle) was raised by an adoptive, interracial, same-sex couple named Hiram and LeRoy. (Just another ho-hum twist in the character's lives.) The only mystery has been putting faces to names and actually meeting this unconventional nuclear family. Bing: More on "Glee" | More on Lea Michelle
That will all change on Feb. 14. TV Line reports that Jeff Goldblum and musical-theater vet Brian Stokes Mitchell have been cast as Hiram and LeRoy and will make their debut appearance during the show's Valentine's Day episode.
The pairing may seem unlikely, but when you consider Stokes Mitchell's multi-talented pedigree (his Broadway credits are joined by familiar roles on "Frasier" and "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," among others) and Goldblum's quirky versatility (see his recent cameo in "Portlandia"), it could be a match made in only-on-TV transcendence.
"Glee" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

Why does this show keep pushing gay characters? I know real life includes the gay lifestyle, but it seems like every chance they get, they keep adding the gay spin on it. Why? It seems the produces have a gay agenda for the show not based on reality. If it's true that only about 10% of the general population is gay, why is every other character depicted as gay? Seems like over the top to me.

Explain to me how her having two dads is about SEX? If she had a mom and a dad would it be about sex? No. I've been in a relationship with a man for 14 years. We are just as boring as other married couples. We got married in Connecticut last year and it was the happiest day of my life. We are both teachers (at the same school), our students know we are married (we didn't tell them, but kids and parents are not stupid), and many of them have congratulated us. They know that being a couple is about love, not sex. It's sad so many people can't seem to separate the two. Do married couples have sex? Yes, but that's not the point of being married. Nobody says boo about showing a divorced couple on tv, but heaven forbid you should show a loving committed one that happens to be gay.

This show is not about high school students in the Glee Club. This is a show about the gay and lesbian community. I don't allow my child to watch it, and I believe it should be on LOGO not Fox! I am all for gay students being incorporated in television shows and even a show focused on a gay student, but these weirdos are making it about sex. Quit trying to push the envelope! It was a great show in the beginning but now the writers are going overboard.
