'Saturday Night Live' Adds Another Female
New York comic Kate McKinnon eyed as possible Kristen Wiig replacement
"Saturday Night Live" is girling up. According to Deadline, New York comic Kate McKinnon will appear on the next show, co-hosted by "Modern Family's" Sofia Vergara, as a featured player. McKinnon is best known for starring in Rosie O'Donnell's "Big Gay Sketch Show" on LOGO.

According to Deadline, McKinnon is the first hire among seven funny ladies being considered by show producer Lorne Michaels for potential permanent slots. (The others include Jessica Joy of "The Playboy Club," Lauren Lapkus of "Are You There Chelsea" and Elaine Carroll of the web series "Very Mary-Kate.")
Never huge on female cast members (the current mix: four out of 13) "SNL" looks likely to lose their biggest when Kristen Wiig's contract ends at the end of this season. (Given her smash movie success with "Bridesmaids," Wiig is not expected to renew.)
"Saturday Night Live" airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
Now this would make a good movie!
Atlanta Police Detective Raphael Alfredo Garcia, an openly gay cop, has made a deal with the devil; at least in his mind William T. Maxwell was that. In the mist of police corruption and a drug war between two Cartels, the fates of 13 children are held in the balance. With no one he can trust, he places his career and his life in the hands of a man of mystery…Can the detectives, one with a badge and one without, save the children from a fate worse than death?
You just have to read this book!

Really? I thought Nora Dunn was out when she was on the show. It certainly wasn't anything but obvious. Anywho.... It's funny how most of the posts on here are about how irrelevant Ms. Mckinnon's sexuality is. Dick Santorum thinks that most folks still think it's a big deal. The age gap in the issue is simply astounding. Although the most important thing is that this gal is funny, it will be interesting to see if the presence of an out gay person will change the table read each week. Will we ever see the Gay Couple from New Jersey again? I wonder if Stefan will have any club recommendations for her? Will Lorenzo Macintosh and the guest star keep threatening the scared straight kids with "rear-end" rape? For the record, I find the first two funny - especially Stefan - but I've never thought the "rear-end" Rape threats all that funny in the "scared straight" sketch.
PS - Seriously - I can type "Rape" but if I use the the word "a-n-a-l", then it's censored?
