Alicia Silverstone gets Lifetime pilot

Former 'Clueless' star signs on to play uptight HR director in workplace drama

Photo courtesy ABCIt seems Alicia Silverstone enjoyed her brief return to TV last year so much that she's hoping to return for a fulltime gig.


Last year, Silverstone reunited with former "Clueless" castmate Jeremy Sisto for a four-episode stint on his ABC comedy "Suburgatory." But her last starring role on the small screen was a decade ago on the shortlived "Miss Match." 

Silverstone -- who's focused more these days on indie flicks like "Vamps," being vegetarian and making headlines by mouth-feeding her kid -- has just been been cast as the lead in Lifetime's workplace drama "HR," which the network ordered to pilot last summer -- and has been on the casting hunt for ever since. 
 
 
Deadline.com reports that Silverstone will play an uptight HR director who changes her stiff ways when she suffers a head injury. The pilot was written by Glenn Porter ("I Melt With You") and will be produced by Aaron Kaplan via his Kapital Entertainment shingle, which has five projects going to pilot this season, including ABC Family's "Terminales" and "Instant Mom" at Nick At Night. 

Could "HR" be the right project to relaunch Silverstone? Sure seems like it, given the network's careful vetting of the casting process and the fact that Lifetime is, of course, the home of fellow former teen starlet Jennifer Love Hewitt, whose steamy double life drama, "The Client List," is currently in its second season.

Given her bizarre behavior like mouth feeding her child I would say she suffered a real life blow to the head already....  So this part shouldn't be a stretch for her.
