Mike Judge producing HBO corporate satire

If there's one segment of the populace Mike Judge knows well, it's idiots. The man behind "Beavis and Butt-Head," "Office Space" and the aptly titled "Idiocracy" has spent more than two decades both paying homage to and cannily skewering ineptitude in all its glorious, purely American iterations. And despite turning 50 earlier this year, he's not done yet.

Deadline reports that Judge has re-teamed with his "King of the Hill" creative nucleus, John Altschuler and Dave Krisnky, to develop a new series for HBO dubbed "Silicon Valley." As you may have guessed, the reputed black comedy will be set against the titular Northern California region's technology boom. More specifically, it will zero in on characters who are not exactly ready for the prime-time success their industry delivers.

 

Hollywood kingmaker Scott Rudin will co-executive produce alongside Judge, Altschuler and Krisnky, and Judge himself will direct the pilot. No word just yet on when we can expect to see this potential gem, or whether it will make us forget that "Curb Your Enthusiasm" still hasn't returned.
