Charlie Sheen Heads to 'Today,' 'Wendy Williams'
Bad boy reflects on his partying past and present, his new FX series and more
Charlie Sheen hit "Today" to talk to Matt Lauer on Thursday, March 29, and is returning to "The Wendy Williams Show" on Friday. Most of the chatter from his "Today" appearance was about his “cringeable” behavior last year and his continued partying. On Friday, he'll talk more about his new FX show, “Anger Management,” and life after "Two and a Half Men."

During Sheen's visit with Lauer, the focus was almost entirely on his partying, even when talking about his upcoming FX series. To be frank, the actor's behavior during the interview would still be classified as strange -- or unique? He even joked that last year, he would have taken the bet that he wasn't going to survive his meltdown.
"I was going to do a documentary with all the footage that I shot during the tour and the whole buildup during the meltdown, which actually, you know, could be a nice case study one day," he said. "In looking at a lot of the stuff, I kind of went, 'Eww. Oh. I can't put that back out.' It was cringeable because I didn't recognize parts of who that guy was. I mean, the verbiage ... You know, him looking like a real insane wordsmith was fine, but it was ... It was a trip down ... "
Amid all the talk of his partying, past and present, Sheen fit in a quick preview of his new "Anger Management" character. "He's flawed. I mean he's an ex-ballplayer who had anger issues whose career ended because of an incident -- I don't want to give too much away -- trying to break a bat, you know, didn't go well. He's a guy that just wants to give something back."
According to "Wendy Williams" promos, his visit on Friday will include "juicy couch talk" about his relationship with his former costars and Ashton Kutcher's raise. Word is that no question is off limits, which means it may be more of the same, but hopefully we'll get more scoop on his upcoming series. His strange schtick of mixing apology with "I'm still wild at heart" is more than a bit tired.
"Today" airs weekday mornings on NBC. "The Wendy Williams Show" airs weekdays in syndication and at midnight on BET.
