Lindsay Lohan Locks Liz Taylor Biopic

LiLo is set to star in a Lifetime original chronicling Liz and longtime love Richard Burton

In another attempt to revive her floundering career, Lindsay Lohan -- who's set to appear as herself on "Glee" later this spring -- has signed on to play stunner Liz Taylor in a Lifetime original movie documenting the eight-times-wed diva's paparazzi-plagued relationship with Richard Burton. 


The film, aptly titled "Liz & Dick," is set to shoot in early June in L.A., and scheduled to air in early October. The biopic willfollow the celebrated love affair between Hollywood royalty as they met on the set of their 1963 hit "Cleopatra," left their spouses and wed, then eventually divorced, only to marry and divorce again.
 
 
"I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor," Lohan said of the role in a press release issued by Lifetime. "She was not only an incredible actress, but an amazing woman as well. I'm very honored to have been asked to play this role."

No word yet on who'll be cast in the Burton role, but maybe they can find a young hunk who's also trying to resuscitate his career, perhaps one of those guys from past-their-prime CW shows like "90210" or "Gossip Girl."

Why all the negativity against lindsay! She deserves this role and will do a great  job. I'm looking forward to see this movie. And to Alice boyde you are talentless and probably fat with 9 kids living in squalor surviving on food stamps! Congrats to you lindsay just keep proving to all the losers that you can do anything.

Is this a joke? For one thing, shes at least 10 years too young and also she looks NOTHING like Elizabeth Taylor and brings none of Taylors unique beauty or charm to the table.

Lindsay Lohan has no more business to portray Liz Taylor than I do!  Lindsay is talentless and looks like a potato with makeup put on it by a child. 

 

I will not even consider watching this idiocy.  I'm not sure what LIFETIME was (is that the correct sponsor) thinking, but they must be desperate.  And YES!  There are so many other actresses that could have done this role and acted it as it should be.

 

So sad.  So bad.  Momma should have hung you in the closet and I'm feelin' so HORRIFIED! amb

WERE THE ONES WHO  SELECTED LOHAN ON DRUGS.  SHE LOOKS OR IS NOTHING LIKE LIZ.  SHE MAY LOOK LIKE HER WHEN SHE WAS IN  HER 50'S.  THERE ARE OTHER ACTRESSES WHO ARE MORE TALENTED AND REALLY DESERVE TO PLAY THIS ROLE.  I WILL NOT WATCH IT AND I AM SURE MANY OTHERS WILL NOT EITHER,

Talk about being miscast. Elizabeth Taylor was in her 30's when she met and then married Richard Burton. Lohan is too young and nowhere near as beautiful as Elizabeth Taylor and she is not a good enough actress to pull off the part. This is one Lifetime movie I will not be watching.

Lindsay Lohan doesn't even look like Lindsay Lohan!  She changed her face so much she's scary looking now.  Elizabeth Taylor would turn in her grave if she knew that's the best Hollywood could find to portray her.  Boo!

Reel in your claws people, Lohan as any-one should get another change to show us what she is made of. I wish her good luck and please Lindsay go to work on time and do your job your a good actress. Pull it together and show these Neg. Nancys what your made of. Who cares about the age different, remember HW can make even me look like Liz T. and I am 20 years older than Liz when she played "Cleopatra,"

Liz was 28 when she met Richard Burton and Lilo is 25.  Not the huge age difference some of you are talking about! 

I'm not sure I think Lilo looks like Liz but then I didn't think Faye Dunaway looked like Joan Crawford in the beginning either and now every time I think of Joan Crawford I see Faye Dunaway as she was in "Mommie Dearest"! 

I think as a child star, Lilo was a wonderful and delightful performer.  She is still barely more than a child but I haven't seen her in anything in quite some time either.  As gifted as she is, I don't doubt if she can put behind her difficulties she can do the job.  What I don't get is all the truly mean and nasty comments?  Lilo has had a rough past for such a young person that was brought on by herself, in other words her misjudgments and problems have cause more trouble for her than anyone else.  She has an alcoholic father who is a leach on her and a mother who also is trying to gain fame and money through her children.  It doesn't surprise me that she's had difficulty in her young life with that kind of a beginning.  Look at Drew Barrymore!  She started out great too and then went through several years of behavior that only damaged herself.  Now she is beloved!  Who would guess that she could overcome her parents and also her own mistakes as a youth?  Let's hope Lilo can do the same thing.  I still watch her over and over again in Parent Trap and Mean Girls.  The only problem I have with her looks is that she injected something in her lips which I don't think makes her look better and she has a tired look about her.  Let's hope that someone having faith in her ability and giving her a paying job will bring back that refreshed look...oh that's right...this is Hollywood, they are just trying to take advantage of her too!

How funny that people criticize LiLo's acting ability and then suggest Megan Fox and Olivia Wilde???  GMAB.  At least Lilo has had movies where she was a wonderful actress...who are these two...what have they done?  Nothing but schlock.

This young woman is a f***ing pig that can't act her way out of a paper bag I.E Machete.....DUH.....​what has she done but be a huge slutty drug addict?  How do we want to even know crap like her....I agree with much better choices of beautiful women that coud do an Icon like Liz a much better tribute!!!

Someone needs to fire the casting agents on this one.  Lohan has no talent what so ever to pull of a portrayl of an icon.  There are far better choices out there but Lohan??????  I don't get it at all.
